THE NEED
 
We are searching for a dynamic, energetic Transportation Department Manager for the Portland area office for our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing ongoing transportation engineering and design projects and developing and expanding our clients’ existing transportation capabilities and project backlog.  This person must be able to work effectively and communicate regularly with municipal clients; federal, state and local authorities.  We would prefer someone currently located in the Portland area that is working in or has worked in Oregon in the recent past.  Team building and business development capabilities will also be very important part of this position. Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have a BCSE degree and a minimum of 10 years experience in municipal streets and roadway design and transportation personnel management. This position requires project management experience and working knowledge of state DOT projects for the development and design process, bidding, and letting process. Experience with the Oregon Transportation market is required. The position requires a PE license and current registration in Oregon or the ability to become registered within 6 months. Familiarity with ODOT design methods, standards and specifications is preferred.Working knowledge of design software used to prepare engineering and design documents would be a plus.
